A blind pensioner took on a mugger when he attacked her sightless friend. Edna Miller, 60, beat the robber repeatedly with her white stick when he attacked Kathleen Wallace, 63, as they strolled on the seafront at South Shields, Tyne and Wear. Their assailant ran off with a purse.
