Trevor Thomas, 50, an ambulanceman praised for his bravery during the aftermath of an IRA bomb explosion at the Baltic Exchange in the City of London in April, was remanded in custody charged with murdering his girlfriend, Susan Oliver. He was arrested on Monday after a siege at his home in Barking, east London.
