THE acclaimed musical City of Angels has been granted a reprieve after an astonishing box-office turn-around. The pounds 2m show was due to close on 7 August after losing pounds 20,000 a week at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London.
But audiences have been flocking to the theatre since the closure was announced last week - and now the show has been given at least an extra eight weeks after building up pounds 500,000 in advance box-office sales. A spokesman for the show said: 'This is the first time in West End history that the closure notice has gone up and then been rescinded.'
