The Crown Prosecution Service has decided there is insufficient evidence to prosecute detectives over the disappearance of documents from the court files of Gary Binham, one of the two cases that led to the disbandment of the West Midlands Police Serious Crime Squad. Binham's uncontested appeal against conviction is to be heard next week.
