A SOLICITOR is believed to have made legal history when he exercised his right of audience before an Old Bailey judge. Alan Kurz was defending a man accused of incest. The defendant, from Hillingdon in west London, was placed on probation for three years. Until recently solicitors have only been allowed to act as advocates in crown courts when representing a defendant in an appeal from a magistrates' court.
