Britain's last working coal-fired paddle steamer, Kingswear Castle, flew the European flag yesterday to mark the single market as she cruised the Medway from Chatham in Kent. 'We wanted to celebrate this special New Year's Day in an unusual way,' John Megoran, the boat's captain said.
