Pair 'stole pounds 21,000 police car'

Two men played cat and mouse with police after stealing a pounds 21,000 Ford Sierra Cosworth from the Northumbria Police compound, Newcastle Crown Court was told. It was alleged that Paul Oliver, 22, and Ian Howard, 23, both from North Shields, dodged police by listening in on the car's radio scanner, which they waved at officers as they cruised past them. The trial continues.
