Police launched a manhunt last night after James Hurley, serving life for the murder of an off-duty constable, escaped during a prison transfer in London.
Hurley, 32, described as 'dangerous', slashed a prison officer during the breakout in Wandsworth, south-west London.
He is serving life for the murder of PC Frank Mason, shot dead during a bungled security van raid in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, in 1988.
