The explorers Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Dr Michael Stroud succeeded in crossing the Antarctic continent on foot after walking a further 38 miles to reach the edge of the Beardmore glacier. They hope to walk a further 370 miles to Scott Base to set a third world record.
