Youths attacked a police station and looted a supermarket in the Paris suburb of Vitry-le-Francois early yesterday after a motorcycle rider died while trying to evade a police patrol. Around 150 young people stoned the station before wrecking the store in the district, regarded as one of France's 400 problem neighbourhoods.
