Thousands of protesting fathers found their way blocked by police when they held an illegal march and demonstration against the Child Support Agency in London yesterday. They were twice barred from marching on the Houses of Parliament.

The marchers, numbered at 2,000 by police, had been refused permission from the Department of National Heritage to hold the rally in Trafalgar Square. The demonstration ended in Jubilee Gardens on the South Bank with no arrests.
