Police 'drip-fed details of murder to suspect'

Police officers 'drip-fed' information to a suspect which they then used to prompt him into confessing to murdering a Cardiff prostitute, the Court of Appeal was told yesterday. Michael Mansfield QC, for Stephen Miller, told the court that the police vividly described the murder scene to Miller several times before he confessed.

Miller, 26, Yusef Abdullahi, 30, and Tony Paris, 35, were convicted of murdering Lynette White, 20, in November 1990. Two other defendants were acquitted. Mr Mansfield said Miller's IQ was 75 and he was highly suggestible. He had an alibi but police were determined to convince him he had been to Ms White's flat. The hearing continues.
