A policeman has been charged with murdering his wife. Sgt Stephen Jones, 33, will appear before Wrexham magistrates' court, Clwyd, today. The body of Madealline Jones, 37, mother of two boys aged six and nine, was found in a stream in a ravine at Tinkersdale, Hawarden, near their home on Sunday night.

Sgt Jones is stationed at Hawarden but was for some years seconded to Sefton Park Police College, Manchester.
