Boris four points clear of Ken in London mayoral race with three days to go

Conservative candidate and current Mayor of London Boris Johnson increased his lead over Labour's Ken Livingstone to four points as the campaign for City Hall entered its final week.

In a YouGov opinion poll conducted for the Evening Standard, Mr Johnson was leading with a run-off of 52 to Mr Livingstone's 48.

However, today Labour said the race remains "neck and neck", while Mr Livingstone released a poster portraying Mr Johnson, Prime Minister David Cameron and Chancellor George Osborne as blue-faced aliens, alongside the slogan " The Tories are on a different planet", in an effort to underline his claim that the party are out of touch with everyday Britons as the country returns to recession.
