The Liberal Party held two more seats than recorded in last week's county council elections. The party, which retained its identity after the formation of the Liberal Democrats, held one more seat in Buckinghamshire, originally recorded as Liberal Democrat, and one in Berkshire originally recorded as independent, cutting its overall net loss of seats to one.
