With the exit poll predicting the Liberal Democrats will only have 10 seats in Westminster, it was already a bad night for Nick Clegg’s party.

Wendy Taylor already had to deal with the ignominy of seeing her lose 22.2% of the vote from 2010, managing just 4,332 votes, finishing fourth place behind Ukip.

However, as she took to the stage in Newcastle, she then had a nasty trip. You can watch the fall here:
