Families weep as village mourns an irreplaceable friend

Tears are wiped away during a final march past Grimethorpe colliery in South Yorkshire yesterday by more than 100 miners, their families and civic leaders. British Coal closed the pit, near Barnsley, last Friday. A local NUM spokesman said: 'Our lives are here. What are we supposed to do now?.'
