Boris Johnson returns to Parliament as MP for Uxbridge & Ruislip South
Mayor of London Boris Johnson has landed himself a second job, by winning a west London seat for the Conservatives in the general election.
Johnson won 22,511 votes to take the Conservative safe seat of Uxbridge and South Ruislip.
Asked to comment on a shock exit poll which suggests that the Conservatives would gain the most seats in Parliament, Johnson said if the result was correct “then obviously, it's a very, very clear victory for the Conservatives and a very bad night for Labour”.
Johnson has not held a seat in Parliament since he was MP for Henley – a seat he held for seven years before he resigned to move into City Hall. in 2008.
