Jo Cox: Conservative MP Andrew Murrison accuses Remain campaign of using MP's death for political gain
The Conservative backbencher has since deleted the tweet

A Conservative MP has accused the Remain campaign of using Jo Cox’s death to gain unfair advantage in the EU referendum.
Andrew Murrison, a backbencher, tweeted: “Remain side spinning Jo Cox murder for partisan advantage in #EUReferendum shameful.” He has since deleted the tweet.
Mrs Cox died after being stabbed and shot in her West Yorkshire constituency. A 52-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
A number of polls published today suggest that the Remain campaign has seen a swing of support in recent days, however it is not certain what influence the tragedy will have had on the figures.

Campaigning on both sides of the referendum was temporarily suspended following Mrs Cox’s death and resumed this weekend.
Her husband Brendan has called for calm following her death and urged for unity against hatred rather than further divide.
He said in a statement: “Jo believed in a better world and she fought for it every day of her life with an energy, and a zest for life that would exhaust most people.
”She would have wanted two things above all else to happen now, one that our precious children are bathed in love and two, that we all unite to fight against the hatred that killed her. Hate doesn't have a creed, race or religion, it is poisonous.
