The Government will publish plans for a statutory register of lobbyists later this month, MPs were told yesterday.
The Political Reform minister, Mark Harper, said the Government wanted contact between MPs and lobbyists "out in the open". But ministers have already indicated that new laws setting up the register are unlikely before the 2012-13 session of Parliament.
