The Tory MP Nadine Dorries has called for Baroness Warsi to stand down pending an inquiry into whether the party co-chairman broke the Ministerial Code.

Lady Warsi was referred to the Prime Minister's adviser on ministerial interests after it emerged that she invited a business partner on an official trip in 2010.

"She is probably completely innocent, but she should step aside while the investigation takes place," Ms Dorries told the Financial Times.
