TIN MONEY: The Government was conditionally waiving loans totalling pounds 23.4m made to help save a Cornish tin mine, the President of the Board of Trade, Michael Heseltine, disclosed last night. He said in a Commons written reply that there was no longer any realistic prospect of repayment of loans made to Carnon Holdings in 1986 and 1988, to safeguard jobs at South Crofty mine, Camborne.
