DRUGS: The Government's strategy on drugs is to be reviewed by a new Central Drugs Co-ordination Unit attached to the Privy Council Office, Michael Howard, the Home Secretary, said. The unit's main tasks will be to ensure that government policies are planned, developed and implemented within a clear framework and to take the lead in tackling the drugs problem. It will report to Tony Newton, Lord President of the Council and Leader of the Commons, who chairs the Cabinet committee on drugs.
