SCHOOL BUILDINGS: The Department for Education estimated that the costs of fitting out its new, rented headquarters building in Great Smith Street, Westminster, would be pounds 11m, Eric Forth, Parliamentary Under-Secretary, told Barbara Roche (Lab, Hornsey and Wood Green). In 1990-91, pounds 560m was spent on repairs and maintenance of all state schools in England.
