RESEARCH BUDGETS: The Government has accepted the Advisory Board for the Research Councils' recommendations on the distribution of the pounds 1.16bn science budget for 1993-94. The largest slice, pounds 582m, will go to the Science and Engineering Research Council. Other allocations include: Medical RC pounds 257m, Natural Environment RC pounds 140m, Agricultural and Food RC pounds 110m, Economic and Social RC pounds 53.5m, Royal Society pounds 18.5m, Royal Academy of Engineering pounds 1.7m.
