RAIL POLICE: After consultations, it had been decided that the British Transport Police would continue to enforce law and order on the rail network after privatisation, Roger Freeman, Minister of State for Transport, said. It would be compulsory for operators to use the force for the administration of law and order, and a set level of policing would be required.
