Pounds 1m burns in depot fire
One million pounds in bank notes were thought to have been destroyed yesterday when a bullion lorry caught fire at a holding depot in Patchway, Bristol. The money was destined for branches of the National Westminster bank.
An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said later: 'There is no suggestion that arson was involved.'
