DEATH ROW CASE: The Government last night refused to intervene in the case of Nicholas Ingram from Cambridge, who is expected to go to the electric chair in the American state of Georgia on Thursday next week. Douglas Hogg, Minister of State at the Foreign Office, said that it would not be appropriate to "intervene at this stage". Ingram has been on death row since 1983 after his conviction for murder during a burglary. Last week, an appeal for a stay of execution was refused.
