Conference called for:
Housing to be made a prime target for opposition activity in the House of Commons;
The national executive to organise a forceful campaign against implementation of the council tax;
A new political strategy encompassing rural areas and rural voters;
MPs to urge the Government to implement the National Pensioners Convention policy of increasing the state retirement age to one half of average gross earnings for a couple and one third for single people;
A review of the law on domestic violence, removing discrimination against women with regard to provocation, premeditation and self defence;
The continuation of the party's close links with the trade unions.
