The conference yesterday:

Opposed the reintroduction of selection in education and school 'opt outs';

Called for the suspension of testing of 7- and 11-year-olds and the production of 'crude league tables' of performance;

Rejected the secularisation of all state education and ending the charitable status of private education;

Reaffirmed its commitment to the unification of Ireland.
