Last month The Independent told how France was creating overseas MPs for its expats. The New York Times even wrote about the creation of a North American constituency for its 156,683 Français, too. But should Westminster follow suit? Here are some places – representing some of the 4.6 million UK expats – who might want their own MP:
* Australia: 1.4 million Brits (about 20x a UK constituency)
* Canada: 630,000
* France: 225,000
* South Africa: 237,000
* Spain: 940,000
* UAE: 64,000
