ROVER, the car maker, has forced a firm to change the name of its dog faeces removal vehicle, from Rover to Fido. A Rover spokesman said: 'It's important that we protect the tradition of what the name symbolises.' The name was an acronym for Ride On Vehicle Excrement Remover. Its replacement stands for Faeces Intake Disposal Operation.
