Detectives were last night investigating the murder of an off-duty postman by a gang of youths.

Archibald Auld, 30, from Pollok, Glasgow, died in hospital from multiple wounds after about 10 teenagers attacked him yards from his home on Saturday night. The motive for the attack was unknown. A police spokesman described it as a 'horrific and unprovoked crime'. He appealed for witnesses to come forward.
