A brooch given to Dorothy Ganter, 92, by a boyfriend in 1940 was auctioned for pounds 52,000. The brooch, re-discovered only recently by Ms Ganter, of Bourne, Lincolnshire, was one of only 25 made by the jeweller Tiffany in 1889.
