TWO women and a man were charged last night in connection with the stabbing of a woman who lost her unborn child when she was knifed in the stomach.

Nicola Smith, 23, who was six months' pregnant, also had part of her nose sliced off when she and her boyfriend, Colin MacCauley, 31, were attacked near their home in Rugby, Warwickshire, last Wednesday night.

Warwickshire police said a 43-year- old woman had been charged with child destruction contrary to section 1 of the 1929 Infant Life Preservation Act, and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

A woman aged 20 is accused of attempted child destruction, causing grievous bodily harm and assault. A man of 23 has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm. All will appear before magistrates at Rugby tomorrow.
