Priest convicted
Patrick Ryan, the former priest whose extradition was sought by Britain to face terrorist charges in 1989, was convicted of handling a stolen caravan and other items worth pounds 7,760. The Special Criminal Court in Dublin ordered him to pay pounds 8,900 compensation by 21 June, when he will be sentenced.
