Constable Richard King, 30, a City of London policeman and former Royal bodyguard who was convicted of assault after punching a teenager who threatened to throw his baby daughter out of a train, yesterday won his appeal against conviction at Chelmsford Crown Court.
Allowing PC King's appeal, Judge Peter Greenwood, told him: "This court is in no doubt whatsoever that the accused believed reasonably that his nine-week-old daughter was in danger and he used force which he believed was reasonable."
