A man who murdered two Pakistanis in racist attacks was given a life sentence at Manchester Crown Court, with a judge's recommendation that he serve at least 25 years.

Mr Justice Morland told Wayne Lambert, 25, of Burnage, Manchester: 'You were driven by an evil, senseless, barbaric gloating hatred.'

Lambert's accomplices, Barry Schofield, 18, and Dean Millington, 17, both of Oakland Avenue, Manchester, and Heather Stewart, 22, of Fallowfield, Manchester, also received custodial sentences. Millington was ordered to be detained at Her Majesty's pleasure, Schofield was sentenced to 13 years' detention, and Stewart was jailed for 12 years.
