A competitor in the Manx Grand Prix - the amateur version of the TT motorcycle races on the Isle of Man - became the 164th rider to die on the 37.75-mile course since racing began in 1907. He was John Judge, 33, a motor vehicle technician, of Burnley, Lancashire.
