Rape charge

A man accused of the murder of Sophie Hook, seven, who was found dead on the beach at Llandudno, north Wales, after she disappeared from a tent in her uncle's garden, was also charged before magistrates with a rape at Colwyn Bay. Howard Hughes, 30, of Colwyn Bay, also faces two unconnected charges of taking and possessing indecent photographs.
