George Glen Lewis, 27, formerly of Wolverhampton, was freed from a 10-year jail sentence imposed in 1987 after being convicted on evidence from the discredited West Midlands Serious Crime Squad. The retrial judge at Nottingham Crown Court ruled that confession evidence was inadmissible, and the prosecution declined to continue. Mr Lewis was cleared of burglary and robbery.
