Reward offered on pounds 1m theft

Securicor offered a pounds 50,000 reward as police continued the hunt for a guard who vanished with pounds 1m from a security van. Edward Maher, 37, of Chelmsford, Essex, has not been seen since Friday when a colleague left him alone in the van to make a delivery to a bank in Felixstowe, Suffolk. The vehicle was later found empty and abandoned. Police also want to trace Mr Maher's partner, Deborah Brett, 27, and her three-year-old son.
