A POLICEMAN suspended after two joyriders died in a high-speed chase on a Bristol housing estate on 16 July has returned to work.

The unnamed officer, who was riding a motorcycle involved in the pursuit, has returned to full duty after an internal inquiry, Inspector Colin Benson, of Avon and Somerset Police, said yesterday. Another regional crime squad officer suspended after the incident, and the driver of an unmarked Rover used in the chase, are awaiting the outcome of a Police Complaints Authority inquiry.

Keith Buck, 18, and Shaun Starr, 32, died when the stolen squad motorcycle they were riding collided with the Rover. Their deaths were followed by three days of rioting.
