Rise in gambling

Britons spent pounds 3.25bn last year on gambling, and the figure is likely to increase by more than a third over the next five years, according to a report by the market analyst Euromonitor. It predicted a figure of pounds 4.4bn by 1997, a 35 per cent rise.
