Road casualty alert

London is struggling to meet the Government's target to reduce road accident casualties by one-third by 2000, according to figures from the London Research Centre. Road deaths fell 10 per cent in 1993 to 286 but the total casualty figure dropped only 1.2 per cent to 45,801.
