Ernest Saunders, the former chairman and chief executive of Guinness, is to have his claim that his 1990 fraud trial was a breach of human rights investigated by the European Commission of Human Rights. He alleges DTi inspectors used compulsory powers to take statements and that this violated his right to silence.
