John Llewellyn Jones, a chemistry teacher at Basildon College of Further Education was fined pounds 750 at Chelmsford Crown Court after a student was injured during an end-of-term experiment to make gunpowder. Llewellyn Jones, 49, of Thundersley, Essex, admitted failing to take proper care of his students and conducting an unauthorised experiment.
