Shareholders in the kidnapped Derby winner, Shergar, failed in a pounds 200,000 High Court damages claim over their failure to recover an insurance pay-out for the loss of the pounds 10m thoroughbred, snatched in 1983 from a stud farm in Co Kildare. The cover was for death but not theft.
