A shopkeeper who sold duty free goods bought in France was fined pounds 1,200. Bristol magistrates were told that Ashok Patel, 34, imported 960 cans of lager, 2.75 litres of wine and 200 cigarettes. The Single European Act removes limits on duty free imports if they are for personal use.
