Shotgun appeal fails

Ted Newbury, 83, of Ilkeston, Derbyshire, lost his appeal against a court ruling that he must pay more than pounds 4,000 damages for injuries sustained by an intruder he blasted with a shotgun while defending a shed on his allotment.
